Update November 8, 2021

Christmas is coming, and the Sonora Chamber of Commerce has big plans to make it the city’s hottest retail season. Our goal is to turn Sonora into a Christmas Town destination, a happy holiday place where visitors return year after year.

How do we do that? It’s a step-by-step process that will build excitement, enthusiasm, and participation.

Year One — National Christmas Tree tour (November 3), Santa Comes to Town Parade (November 26), Christmas Tree Lane in Courthouse Park, Santa’s workshop on Linoberg, and Candy Cane-wrapped utility poles. The Red Church and Courthouse Park are also being professionally light and will be on for the parade and will stay on until the New Year.

Year Two — Same as year 1 plus Coffill Park will become a Winter Wonderland with an outdoor synthetic ice skating rink!

Year Three — Building on years 1 & 2 with strolling carolers, hot cider vendors, a home tour of lights… The sky’s the limit.

Making downtown Sonora a shopping and entertainment magnet during the holiday season will attract families, shoppers, and festive visitors from around the state.

In case you were not aware, the City’s Holiday decorations were destroyed in the Washington Fire. Your contribution is more important than ever and will go to help replace and restore our town to its charming Christmas glory.

As always your chamber puts our community’s safety and well-being first. Please understand all planned activities are subject to postponement due to any city, county or state regulations surrounding the pandemic.
