Vote for Your Choice of Best Non-Profit Christmas Trees 2025

This year, Christmas Tree Lane at Courthouse Park will feature over 50 beautifully decorated trees by local nonprofit organizations and scout troops. Each tree tells the unique story of its organization and will be on display through New Year’s. The public will have the chance to vote for their favorite, and cash awards will be given to the top three winners to support their causes.

Voting opens on December 4 at noon and closes on Sunday, Decemember 14 at 6pm, so be sure to check back here to cast your vote and help choose the best tree!

Voting has ended.

Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at our Holiday Community Mixer at the  Sonora Opera Hall and will be posted  on Facebook the evening of Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

Congratulations to the 2024 Winners

The winners of first, second, and third place were chosen by public vote.

1st Place 2024  — Sonora Cat Rescue

Thank you so much!

The $300 will go toward saving at least 3 more cats than we couldn’t have afforded to take in otherwise. Each cat that comes into our care receives 3 vaccines, deworming, FIV/FeLV testing, and spay/neuter surgery.

Our adoption fee is $150 per cat, meaning we are putting more money into each cat than the adoption fee recoups. The difference, plus any medical costs due to illness or injury over the standard care, is made up by fundraising and grants. This money will directly save 3 lives, if not more!

Thank you again!

2nd Place 2024  — Aronos Research Club

This is our second year of decorating a tree for Christmas Tree Lane and we had fun coming up with a theme and something that we felt depicted our Historic 1915 Club. In 2024 we donated $200 to the Dario Cassina High School Christmas Fund.

This project brings joy to our high school youth and the money is spent directly on the students to help them have a very Merry Christmas with their friends and family.  So since this was a “Christmas Gift” our Board voted to donate the $200 to the 2025 Dario Cassina High School Christmas Fund in hope that next year will bring more students joy and knowledge that we are a community who supports and cares about them.

3rd Place 2024 — Mother Lode Wildlife Care

The $100 is much needed and greatly appreciated. THANK YOU! Mother Lode Wildlife Care appreciated the opportunity to showcase what we do in this unique local event. Our volunteers had a lot of fun making ornaments and decorating the tree.

We thought all the trees were wonderful. Our prize money will be spent on food for the animals. Thank you!”
