43rd Annual Pop Hudson Memorial Christmas Sing hosted by the Union Democrat
December 20 @ 12:45 pm PST
The 43rd Pop Hudson Memorial Christmas Sing, presented by The Union Democrat, will fill downtown Sonora with song on Friday, Dec. 20, and community groups are needed to help spread the holiday cheer.
The 45-minute event features members of community groups — like city and county employees, service clubs and nonprofit organizations — leading the public in singing Christmas carols in front of the historic Tuolumne County Courthouse at Courthouse Square. Pianist Mark Seiver will accompany groups, who will also be provided with song sheets so there’s no need to have words memorized.
The Christmas Sing is part of a festive afternoon that begins with a free lunch at noon provided by the Tuolumne County Sportsmen with Mut’s Bean Feed, which was founded in 1987 by the late Galen “Mut” Mutzner. Lunch is served in front of The Sportsman at the corner of Washington and Linoberg streets.
After lunch, people are invited to walk the two blocks to Courthouse Square, where The Union Democrat will host the old-fashioned singalong from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.
